Finance Business Intern - Department Auditor (Seasonal)

Job Description: Selected candidates are placed in a Department Auditor role with the park responsible for working with Cash Control & Compliance Manager and Culinary and Merchandise Departments in order to achieve budget goals for loss prevention for BGW and WCUSA through analysis and reporting of department cashiers. Interns will also be required to participate in the following developmental activities throughout the summer:

Attend seminars held by various departments within the park, including Culinary Operations, Design & Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Merchandise, and Park Operations

Attend business, leadership, and professional development classes taught by park leadership

Park tours with members of our leadership team

Planned meeting sessions with members of the park’s senior leadership team

Complete an Internship project where interns work with leaders throughout the park on an assignment designed to improve the park and its operations

•Complete an evaluation process throughout the entire internship period designed to help selected candidates gain real job experience and develop/improve their performance during the entire length of the internship

Interns will also have the experience of front-line involvement, working with a team of employees and providing support to their team as they interact with thousands of guests daily

Daily Responsibilities: Interns will be expected to perform the following responsibilities on a daily basis:

Perform random cash audits in the field, working with finance and security to resolve discrepancies at both Busch Gardens and Water Country USA

Research variances in over/short reports and determine, with the assistance of park supervisors, the root cause

Develop and maintain a database for tracking and researching multiple aspects of the cash handling process, including over/shorts

Work with other Auditors and Auditor Group Supervisor to cover daily required cashier audits for both parks

Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Competencies

Must be currently pursuing a college degree

Proficient PC skills in Windows environment, especially Microsoft Excel and Access

Commit to working through the 2018 peak operating season (mid May– mid August)

Flexible availability (schedules include early morning shifts, weekends and holidays)

Excellent human relations and communication skills

Effective organizational skills, ability to effectively manage time, and ability to work without direct supervision.
