Park Operations Business Intern- Health Services Tech

Job Description: Selected candidates are placed in a Health Services Tech Level I role with the park responsible for responding to medical emergencies for guests and Team Members in a timely manner. Follow established VA OEMS protocols for patient care. Interns will also be required to participate in the following developmental activities throughout the summer:

Attend seminars held by various departments within the park, including Culinary Operations, Design & Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Merchandise, and Park Operations

Attend business, leadership, and professional development classes taught by park leadership

Park tours with members of the Park Operations leadership team

Planned meeting sessions with members of the park’s senior leadership team

Complete an Internship project where interns work with leaders throughout the park on an assignment designed to improve the park and its operations

Complete an evaluation process throughout the entire internship period designed to help selected candidates gain real job experience and develop/improve their performance during the entire length of the internship

Interns will also have the experience of front-line involvement, overseeing a team of employees and providing guidance and direction to their team as they interact with thousands of guests daily

Daily Responsibilities: Interns will be expected to perform the following responsibilities on a daily basis:

Interacting with guests and Team Members

Performing EMT Basic skills per state protocols

Assisting ALS providers with patient care as directed

Answering guest and Team Member questions via telephone or in person

Assisting nurses with patient care in Health Services building.

Requirements and Competencies

Must be currently pursuing a college degree

Valid Virginia driver’s license

Have worked at least 12 months pre-hospital as an EMT or Emergency Room Tech required

Virginia EMT-BLS certification or higher

American Heart Association for Health Care Provider certification or equivalent

Commit to working through the 2018 peak operating season (mid May– mid August)

Flexible availability (schedules include nights, weekend and holidays)

Excellent human relations and communication skills

Previous theme park experience is a plus

Locations and positions will be based upon applicant qualifications and availability. This is a paid internship and can be used for credits based on the requirements of your College or University. Please see your school for requirements.
