Security Sergeant

The Security Sergeant is responsible for:

 

Complete weekly schedules taking into account Park operating hours, special events, available manpower and posts that need to be covered.

Ensure all uniformed security officers adhere to all park policies and procedures with safe keeping of guests, employees, animal collection and company assets.

Provide field training to all officers.

Controls access to company property to ensure that the approved access policy is being adhered to; this includes vehicle and bag inspections to prevent contraband and the removal of company assets.

Assist other departments with daily operations; conduct revenue escorts and document; monitor, respond and reset alarm systems.

Act as the Security Duty Officer when designated by either the Security Director of Manager.

Ensure that park incidents are appropriately documented, this includes thorough review of reports for accuracy and completeness.

Respond to significant incidents that occur during their shift and provide guidance and leadership necessary to ensure the needs of guests and employees are met to the high standards of SEA.

Document and disseminate critical information in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered:

Minimum High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 3 years Security/Law Enforcement, or Military experience

Three year's experience as a supervisor

Formal security or law enforcement training preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft computer programs required

Must be able to obtain certification as DCJS Armed Security Officer within 90 days of hire.

Must have valid driver's License

Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
